The Shallow Survey Conference is coming up and I would like to go. Here are some of the talks that may be relevant to stuff that I am doing / want to do.

Post processing of typical Finnish bathy data
Thursday 11:00
Discusses the suitability of CUBE to Finnish data... in the past they have manually cleaned and it looks like they're now attempting to use CUBE. Since NOAA has very recently gone through this transition (and is still going through it to some degree) it may be interesting to see how other countries are coming along.

Uncertainty Representation in Hydrographic Surveys and Products
Brian Calder
Tuesday 14:00
An attempt at representing uncertainty at the user level to aide in route-selection (assess the cumulative risk over a set of routes). Could also be used in survey planning... i.e. how to plan surveys to minimize the risk of a set of charts.

Analysis of NOAA Methods of Application of Sound Speed Uncertainty and Alternatives Derived from Use of the Estimating Sound Speed Uncertainty Software
Dan Wright
Tuesday 16:00
Discusses how to use our ESS program to both maintain practical limitations of sampling frequency and still stay within NOAA specs (i.e. how to not blow the uncertainty budget).
